ABOUT ME

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me - my name is Patrick Brickman. When I am not playing with my dog, Duncan, I am a multimedia producer and reporter at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, AL.

My roots are in Dothan, AL, where my parents raised me with an appreciation for the history, culture, and excitement of sports. As a kid, my favorite memories were going to FSU football games and playing youth sports with my dad. It’s memories like those that cemented my love of competition. I can always be found having sports discussions with pretty much anyone willing to listen. My outgoing nature and my eagerness to utilize my knowledge on the topic led me to pursue a Telecommunications and Film degree at the University of Alabama.

I began my career working as a news reporter, but quickly realized my true passions were in sports. I spent three years as a sports director in Panama City, FL before taking my current position in Alabama.

In my time at 33/40, I've had the pleasure of working at the 2019 National Championship Game, Auburn's run to the 2019 Final Four, a Heisman Ceremony in New York City, four college football bowl games, and many other awesome events. Those challenges only strengthened my passion for what I do. Not only have my storytelling skills become sharper, but I've also become a much more efficient editor and camera operator.

That leads me to my favorite part of the job - creativity. We live in an amazing time and the way sports fans consume and engage with their teams changes by the hour. I find it exciting and refreshing. Because of this, I am looking to transition from simply covering teams as a journalist to being a part of one as a content creator. I am motivated, driven, and take great pride in working well with others.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking my dog, playing basketball, and podcasting.
